Menopause is a fact of female life. All women will go through it. Many women will get to experience the dark side of the condition, while others will only experience moderate irritation at worst, and still others (likely the majority) will probably feel nothing whatsoever and coast through the whole experience, unaware to it other than the unmistakable cessation of menstrual periods.
With health risks, illnesses and life threatening conditions on the increase, it’s fundamental that women are aware of the symptoms of menopause and how their effects will impact her, and make sure she’s ready for the issues that might spring up and the many different options that are available to them.
What May Happen During The Menopause
As you get close to menopause age, your body reduces the production of progesterone and estrogen, which means menstruation will end soon. This, in turn, is what brings on menopause symptoms.
Some of these may be short-term, such as hot flashes, fatigue, night sweats, loss of interest in sex and headaches. There are others however which are more long term, such as vaginal sensitivity and urinary problems, and may become permanent but are not life-threatening, and may in all likelihood be cleared up or at least relieved by one of the many different natural remedies for menopause.
There are however some serious issues related to the decrease in progesterone and estrogen during menopause that could be hazardous which may not get noticed, until you notice them as a problem. There’s also a greater risk of contracting other serious diseases after the decline in estrogen production are coronary heart disease which can be the cause of heart attacks, cerebrovascular disease which can lead to strokes, and certain cancers.
On a more positive note, there are many medical and natural remedies for menopause depending on your symptoms; including hormone therapy (HRT), herbal HRT, to nutritional menopause supplements and from dietary changes to beneficial exercises.
HRT has been widely used by a huge number of of women across the globe, but the debate surrounding it is misleading and still raging, and the guidelines on the way it should be prescribed have altered in view of this recent research.
